Deliberating on the specific needs and requirements of our users, I engaged in a thoughtful process to conceptualize and design a user flow tailored to facilitate the growth of the online application for business overdrafts. This endeavor was driven by a meticulous consideration of user perspectives, aiming to create a seamless and intuitive journey that aligns precisely with the users’ expectations and objectives.

The user-centric approach involved analyzing the key pain points, preferences, and objectives of our target audience. Through this empathetic understanding, I formulated a user flow that not only streamlines the application process but also enhances the overall user experience. Special attention was given to ensuring clarity in communication, intuitive navigation, and an efficient flow that caters to the diverse needs of business owners seeking overdraft solutions.

Furthermore, the design thinking process incorporated feedback loops, user testing, and iterative improvements to refine the user flow continuously. This iterative approach ensures that the final design is not only informed by initial user insights but is also validated through real-world testing, enhancing its efficacy and user satisfaction.

My Role:

• In my role, I hold the pivotal responsibility of orchestrating design interactions across a spectrum of diverse projects, concurrently managing the intricacies of project execution and stakeholder relationships. This multifaceted position demands a comprehensive understanding of both design principles and project management dynamics.

• Operating at a Vice President (VP) level, I have successfully executed designs in collaboration with highly proficient technical experts within the specialized domain of design, particularly focusing on the intricacies of the relationship banking department. This involvement at a leadership level signifies not only a mastery of design principles but also a strategic understanding of the unique challenges and nuances within this specific discipline.

• Additionally, I assume a leadership role in managing project teams, with a particular emphasis on the technical facets of project execution. Guiding these teams from a technical perspective involves leveraging my in-depth understanding of design methodologies and technical intricacies to ensure seamless collaboration, efficient problem-solving, and successful project outcomes. This requires a nuanced approach to aligning technical considerations with overarching project goals, contributing to the overall success of the initiatives undertaken.

In summary, my role extends beyond design execution, encompassing project and stakeholder management, collaboration with technical experts at a VP level, and leadership in guiding project teams from a technical standpoint. This multifaceted engagement underscores a commitment to excellence in both design and project management within the dynamic landscape of relationship banking.

    • Empowering our valued customers to efficiently operate, oversee, and expand their businesses is at the heart of our mission. This is achieved through the introduction of a cutting-edge digitally self-service onboarding capability, strategically crafted to streamline processes and enhance the overall customer experience.

    • Central to this initiative is the development of a robust digital capability, encapsulated within the Absa Digital Platform and Mobile App. This transformative capability enables our customers to independently initiate and complete applications for two key merchant products – Smart Pay and Absa Mobile Pay, among others.

In my capacity, I played a pivotal role in bringing this vision to fruition. Specifically, I took charge of designing and meticulously crafting the wireframes for the Merchant Self-Service functionality within both the Absa Mobile App and the Smart Pay Service. This involved a comprehensive design process, from conceptualization to the creation of wireframes that embody user-centric principles, ensuring an intuitive and seamless experience for our customers.

The design thinking process was not only focused on functionality but also on optimizing the user journey, with the goal of simplifying complex procedures and fostering a user-friendly interface. Through collaborative efforts and a deep understanding of both design principles and user needs, I successfully executed the design of the Merchant Self-Service wireframes, contributing to the realization of a transformative digital capability that empowers our customers in their business endeavors.
