Standard Bank | LookSee Division

Recognizing the imperative for a revitalized aesthetic for LookSee, I embarked on a pivotal initiative to craft a comprehensive design library for the platform. The primary objective was to establish a standardized and cohesive design system that would seamlessly guide developers, ensuring a consistent and harmonious visual experience across the entire website.

The creation of this design library involved a meticulous process of distilling key design elements, patterns, and components that collectively define the LookSee platform’s visual identity. Each component was thoughtfully considered, taking into account both aesthetic appeal and functional efficiency. By encapsulating these design principles within a dedicated library, I aimed to provide developers with a structured and user-friendly resource that facilitates a unified and streamlined workflow.

This design library serves as a dynamic repository, not merely dictating visual elements but also encompassing the underlying design philosophy. It acts as a comprehensive guide, ensuring that developers can seamlessly integrate the designated visual language into various sections of the website while adhering to a consistent flow.

Moreover, the design library is designed to be adaptable, accommodating future enhancements and modifications while preserving the overall coherence of the LookSee platform’s visual representation. This adaptability ensures that as the platform evolves, developers can effortlessly maintain visual continuity, contributing to a user experience that is both intuitive and aesthetically pleasing.

In essence, the creation of the design library for LookSee represents a strategic investment in maintaining a cohesive and compelling visual identity. This initiative not only facilitates the current development needs but also lays a foundation for sustained design consistency and scalability as the platform evolves and grows over time.

My Role:

• Spearheading the LookSee Design Library initiative, I undertook the comprehensive task of curating a repository that encapsulates the visual identity and design principles for the platform. This involved distilling key design elements, patterns, and components to ensure a cohesive and standardized user experience across the LookSee website.

• As the driving force behind the LookSee website redesign, I assumed a leadership role in conceptualizing and implementing a revamped visual aesthetic. This encompassed not only refining the existing design elements but also introducing innovative and user-centric features to enhance overall usability and appeal.

• Playing a pivotal role in ensuring the user-friendliness of the LookSee platform, I took charge of overseeing the user testing process for all products during onboarding. This involved meticulously analyzing user interactions, feedback, and behavior to refine and optimize the onboarding experience, aligning it with user expectations.

• Contributing to the enrichment of knowledge dissemination on the LookSee blog page, I assumed responsibility for sourcing and supplying relevant and impactful images for the Knowledge-Hub. This involved a keen eye for visuals that complemented the content, fostering a visually engaging and informative experience for users.

• Additionally, I took on the responsibility of crafting and maintaining the sitemap for LookSee, ensuring a structured and navigable layout for the platform. This involved thoughtful consideration of user journeys, content hierarchies, and overall information architecture to facilitate seamless navigation and accessibility.

In essence, my multifaceted role within LookSee spans from the foundational aspects of design library creation and website redesign to the intricate details of user testing, content curation, and sitemap management. This holistic approach is geared towards elevating the overall user experience and visual appeal of LookSee across various dimensions.

The integration of design components is an indispensable aspect of any design workflow, serving as the bedrock of consistency within a product’s visual identity. Leveraging the capabilities of Figma, I meticulously crafted and organized a comprehensive design library encompassing essential UI components, including but not limited to iconography, typography, and a color picker.

In the realm of iconography, each icon was thoughtfully designed and standardized to ensure a cohesive and recognizable visual language throughout the product. This not only enhances the aesthetic appeal but also contributes to intuitive user interactions.

Typography, being a critical element of design, underwent meticulous attention. The design library encapsulates a well-defined typographic system, incorporating font choices, sizes, and styles that align seamlessly with the overall design language. This consistency extends across various interfaces and contributes to a harmonious user experience.

Furthermore, the color picker within the design library was curated with precision. The color palette was carefully chosen, considering factors such as brand identity, accessibility, and visual hierarchy. The result is a harmonized and versatile color scheme that enhances the overall aesthetics and usability of the product.

The use of Figma as the design tool facilitated a collaborative and iterative approach. This allowed for seamless sharing of design components across the team, fostering a unified understanding of the visual language. Additionally, the flexibility of Figma ensured that the design library remains dynamic, accommodating updates and refinements as the product evolves.

In essence, the creation of this design library in Figma not only establishes a foundation for design consistency but also reflects a commitment to delivering a visually appealing and user-friendly product. The meticulous attention to each design component underscores the importance of a holistic and systematic approach to design, ensuring a seamless and cohesive user experience.
